Nightmare of The Rev

Now your nightmare comes to life…!

It was Monday, December 28th 2009 when his body was found in his house. James Sullivan, also known as The Rev, drummer of Avenged Sevenfold found dead.

And it’s been 8 months after his death. I still remember how he beats his drum-set. I still remember how he shouts on the song A Little Piece of Heaven.

I feel grateful I ever saw him live perform in Tennis Indoor Senayan on 22nd of October 2008. I was amazed. They were great. The Rev was great.

“Sullivan was one of the world’s best drummers, but more importantly our best friend and brother” said Matt Shadows.

His death was reported as due to natural causes. The results of the autopsy performed on December 30, 2009, however, were inconclusive.

It was not until June 9, 2010 that the cause of death was revealed to have been an acute overdose of drugs.

“an acute polydrug intoxication due to combined effects of oxycodone (OxyContin), oxymorphone (a metabolite of oxycodone), diazepam (Valium), nordiazepam (a metabolization of diazepam) and alcohol.”

Now he’s gone. It’s a nightmare for other A7x members.

But they keep moving on. A7x just release their new album, called Nightmare.

And one thing that makes me feel better, that Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater fills up the drums track for this album.

It’s freakin’ awesome!

Mike Portnoy is one of the most influent drummers for The Rev. I like him too. I love Dream Theater songs.

Here is their new single. Nightmare….

You should have known the price of evil,
And it hurts to know that you belong here, yeah.
No one to call, everybody to fear,
Your tragic fate is looking so clear, yeah.
Oooooh, it’s your fuckin’ nightmare…
